Highland FEAST 2026 a great success!

by Ella Cardinali (HGFP Regional Food Group Lead)

We’re so grateful to all the food businesses that took part in this year’s Highland FEAST. It created a chance to discover and support the fantastic food businesses that exist across the Highlands and championed local suppliers.

We are excited to continue working with our FEAST partners to encourage more local food celebrations across the region! Black Isle Berries: Supper Club – the whole team gathered together and hosted their first supper club, sharing a menu from fresh produce from Black Isle Berries itself and surrounding producers on the Black Isle.

Press General Store: Cook Book Swap – a free event in Beauly where people could come together, swap cook books and recipes, chat about food and get to know each other.

Fishertown Inn Tattie Holidays – an event to celebrate and draw attention to the tradition of the tattie holidays, through a menu focused around local and regional potatoes.

Our chair, Adam Bell attended and had this to say: “On Saturday, 17th October the Fishertown Inn in Cromarty hosted a “Tattie Night” celebration as part of our Highland FEAST festival, with a special menu dedicated to all things potato! I went along to sample their tasty treats.  It was a lovely night in Cromarty, with the ever-hospitable Fishertown Inn team serving a delightful homage to the humble spud! I had the tattie scone blinis, with Ord Oak smoked salmon, sour cream and dill; followed by the beef and ale hotpot with dauphinoise tatties. As much as I love a simple spud, the fancy servings will always get my attention, too! The locality of the produce was clearly marked, with the suppliers called out by name – a true reflection of the wonderful work going on in our region to put good food on the table.”

Sutor Creek: Carolina BBQ – part of their ongoing winter season of events, designed to provide a community space centred around food for local people and visiting tourists.

Watch this space for Wild Gorse: Highland cheese & charcuterie event, which will be coming later in the year.
