Farmer Cluster Connections

A programme to strengthen Scotland's farmer-led learning networks, and accelerate the exchange of knowledge in sustainable and regenerative agriculture.

We’re excited to share that we’ve been successful in a joint bid to the Scottish Government’s Knowledge Transfer and Innovation Fund (KTIF). This funding will help launch Farm Cluster Connections, a national programme that aims to strengthen farmer-led learning and boost the sharing of knowledge around sustainable and regenerative farming in Scotland.

What’s happening?

Propagate’s Regenerative Farming Network already brings together more than 330 members across the country. Building on this, the new two-year project will set up eight regional farmer clusters. Each cluster will have support from local facilitators and will be linked to the others through shared communication and learning.

The project is a partnership between Propagate, Southern Uplands Partnership, Carse of Stirling Partnership, Argyll Countryside Trust, Forth Rivers Trust, Highland Good Food Partnership, and the Clydesdale Soil Health Network. Each regional group will run farm walks, on-farm demos, online discussions, and webinars based on what local farmers want to learn about – such as regenerative grazing, soil health, biodiversity, and farm profitability.

A big part of the project is creating a strong national network of facilitators. This will help make knowledge-sharing more coordinated, effective, and long-lasting. Facilitators will meet regularly as a national learning group and will be supported by Propagate’s communications team and digital platforms.

Alongside local events, there will also be podcasts, national webinars, newsletters, and free online resources. A national gathering will bring farmers and facilitators together to share learning and celebrate progress.

We’re absolutely delighted to be part of this ambitious project. Because the work is farmer-led, we’d love you to register your interest in the form above.

And we want to hear your ideas! What would you like the Highlands part of the project to look like? Would you like a farm walk near you? What kind of speakers or topics would make you join a webinar?

Your input will help shape the project. So please share your thoughts by emailing hello@highlandgoodfood.scot .
