What do we do?

Below are the specific projects we are working on:

 

We bring people together to build a fairer, more resilient food system in the Highlands. We campaign on important issues, amplify sustainable practice, empower communities and champion local producers. From ground-level projects to national policy consultations, we collaborate at every level to transform Highland food culture.

Regional Food Group

How do you like them applesWe are the Regional Food Group for the Highlands, which means we work with food businesses to produce a sustainable food economy for all. Find out more here.

Highland Community Waste Partnership

HCWPWe are one of the 8 community groups in the Highlands, working together to address climate change through waste reduction. Within HGWP our focus is on reducing food waste, food packaching and single-use containers. Find out more about this project here.

Good Food Nation

greenhouseThe Highland Good Food Partnership coordinated consultation events that fed into the Good Food National Plan in 2024.

We are now helping to enact the plan in partnership with Highland Council and NHS Highland. To find out more, go here. We regularly engage with and respond to relevant Scottish Government consultations and are members of the Scottish Food Coalition.

Regenerative Agriculture and Farm Clusters

We support local farmer clusters, and are looking at developing a regenerative agriculture network for the Highlands. To find out more about our Farmer Clusters Project, go here.

The Highland Good Food Podcast

We produce the Highland Good Food Podcast, the showcase amazing work going on in the Highlands, and to highlight the latest issues and solutions to building a better food system. Listen to the podcast on any platform, or here.
